Link Building is a science and in order to build great links you need to think out of the box like Eric Ward, Jon Cooper, Jason Acidre and more. Unfortunately many people believe that link building is just piece of cake and as a result usually most of them end up in the dark abyss of Google animal update.
If you have just joined the fray for building quality links for your website or for your clients’, this post is for you as I am going to list down some of the books, guides and courses you should be seeking, in order to become a great SEO and link builder.
Will that cost?
Why not? You went to university to get a graduation degree in computer science, communication, journalism, arts and more they all are paid. Link building as I said earlier is a science where you have to deal with technicalities as well as human physiology and more.
I am not saying all are paid but most courses, books and guide are paid as it will not only give you knowledge but also allows you to interact with the community and build connections that will later help you excel in your career as a link builder.
Here are the resources that you should consider investing your time and money in order to become a great SEO and to be specific, link builder.
Link Building Guides
Moz is famous for their beginners guide to SEO but in August 2014, Trevor Kelvin updated their main blog where they announced their beginners guide to link building. I have gone through this book and I believe this is an interesting book that every link builder at the initial stage should read.
The Author of the Book is Paddy Moogan from Distilled. The reason why I am suggesting this book as important is because it covers all the basics that one needs to know in order to begin with ethical link building.
Book covers the topics like introduction to link building, types of links, link building campaigns, tactics and more. This will be my first recommendation to anyone who wants to start their career as a link builder in this fastest moving industry.
If you are unaware of the name Neil Patel then you my friend are missing out a big part of SEO industry and you must follow him on twitter this instant as he is considered to be one of the GODs of link building and SEO due to his ever distinctive and unbeatable ideas and tactics.
If you are done with the beginners course and want some advance tactics than this infographic style guide to link building by Neil Patel is just the thing for you. Again, this is a FREE gift from Neil Patel that will take your link building skills to the next level.
This Guide is based on 12 chapters that start with the new era of link building and then covers topics like quest of a perfect link, epic content, how to acquire .edu and .gov backlinks, relationship building, gray hat, black hat and more.
By the end of this book, I bet you will have more ideas to build links then most quality link builders in the game.
If you are still short with link building ideas and strategies, you probably need to read this detailed guide to link building strategies by Jon Cooper of Point Blank SEO.
This guide not only gives to your strategies and the right time to execute them but also helps you understand the quality of a link. If you want to build high quality links, just read the post and you will see what type of links you should be building that are of highest quality and can give you maximum benefits.
This is the guide that I recommend to anyone who asks me for link building ideas and this is a must read guide for my team in-house.
Link Building e-Books
In this part I am going to cover the link building e-books that are not only must read for our team at SEtalks.com in-house but it as a compulsory thing for all link builder in the firm, where I work as a consultant.
If you ask me to recommend the three great link builders, one of them would be Paddy Moogan. His contribution in the SEO industry with his conference speeches and writings can never be forgotten. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he is one of the legends of the SEO and digital marketing industry.
This Book by Paddy Moogan will give you almost everything you need to know from information to execution, step by step. The cost of the book is $37 which is nothing as compared to the amount of knowledge and information hidden in it.
If you are a digital agency or even a link builder, this should be the course book for all the professionals (no matter how much experience they have).
When Ven and I was planning a big content together, one thing that we figured out was that at all the free books on link building were either outdated or do not contain a valuable content so we decided to create an ebook that covers both areas.
We planned to write a book together that contain effective and updated content that is available to the link builders for free. This is another ebook that is recommended by me to all link builders! No matter, at what stage of link building you are, you still will find something new and worthy.
The best part is that this book is available free of cost.
Eric Ward is the Mooses of Link Building and Garrett French is the one who come up with the first (or at least one of the most prominent) broken link building tool.
This book is distinctively mind blowing and as it is coming from the most experienced link builders within the industry who have successfully implemented hundreds of different link building campaigns, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that this book contains the gold mine of link building.
$13.78 and all you will get is a lot of stuff that will not only help you get your hands dirty with link building but it will also take your link building stills to the next level.
Link Building Courses
If you are a regular reader at SEtalks.com you must have remembered the post I did back in January 2014 that talks about SEO Courses in which I have mentioned 3 courses that I believe every good link builder should invest their time and money in.
In that post I have asked few questions from the course leaders and why any link builder should consider their course and got detailed reply from them.
The three courses that I would still recommend are:
- Link Building Course by Point Blank SEO
- Market Motive
- Digital Marketing Institute
You can read more about these courses here in a blog post I published at SEtalks.com.
Obviously there must be tons of other guides, resources and books (both free and paid) that contain valuable information but above given are few of the resource that I personally recommend to anyone who come to me or to my team in-house.
Do you have any other resource that you believe should be a part of my list? Please share with me in the comment section.
